Yeah, we had to swap to a 220V outlet behind the stove for our induction. At least we were doing a bunch of other electrical work since we had bought the house. We thankfully had a 200 amp service, but if we only had a 100 amp we would have had to upgrade because were also adding central air.

An induction stove was one of my short list things to change when we moved in... Only to find out during inspection that it already was! I've been very happy with it

BUT I am a total induction convert and I support anything that makes it easier for folks to pull the trigger

It really does. I was a big, "Gas or bust!" guy and then once I started using induction I was really sold. Boils water easily, super precise temp control, and easy to clean.

(though I have a burn on my hand because I stupidly kept a metal utensil sitting on the stove that was close enough to pick up the field and get incredibly hot)

I have to say that I absolutely prefer gas for cooking as it's easy to walk up to a strange stove and know what it'll do. That said, GF has electric and after cooking there a few times, you figure out where you want the knobs and after that it's fine.

Yeah, that's fair. I like that my induction has a knob interface that's pretty similar to a gas range, which helps.

It's not so much the knob, it's how far to turn the knob. But after a week, one figures it out.

it’s one of those things that is fully dependent on access. my house in on a crawl space so the only place i had to open up drywall was the first floor ceiling. of course if you need a service upgrade that raises the price significantly.

that is the benefit of this stove being battery equipped. No service upgrade required. The stove charges the batteries slowly over the standard 120v outlet and the batteries then power the stove, so no energy spikes, no need for a 240v 50amp outlet... I know this because I worked on the product ☺️
