Leftists aren't looking for perfect, we are demanding basic human decency your preferred party and candidates lack.
Sure, but some people (not all or only leftists) use arguments for nonparticipation that assume perfection is possible, and that it is morally blameless to try for it. It is in fact a choice with a cost. I'm not even saying it's always wrong, but it's a choice.
No we don't, you're just not really good at casting judgement, or you're being dishonest. Nobody talks about perfect. Nobody.
That's fine, but then everything is evil to some degree. That seemed to meet with resistance, but if you agree, great.
No, everything isn't evil to some degree. You're not making rational arguments, you're blabbing.
Sorry, I'm confused. If nothing is perfect, then everything has flaws. No person or system is ethically perfect, so they all contain evil. This just seems like inescapable logic. What am I missing?
Flaws are different than evil. Look, you are not making good arguments. Sort yourself out. I'm outta here.
Thanks for a mostly pleasant exchange except for the occasional unearned condescension
Not nominating someone who hates trans and poor people would be a HUGE step forward for the Democrats. Why do democrats wanna elect a prettier person who has the politics of Trump.
Yeah, Newsome really pisses me off. It's such a superficial and embarrassing strategy to play him up. I love taunting Trump too, but jfc.
But you will vote for him if he's the nominee?
Assuming all attempts at primarying and protesting fail and the alternative is single party authoritarianism (and the election actually matters, which is in doubt), then probably? Shitty choice, of course. Not sure what anyone gains if I don't (including trans and poor people).
