Peak shale oil in he USA is occurring as we speak. That was really a flash in the pan, a swift boom-bust cycle.

If only this were true - but supply follows demand now and there are vast reserves at a higher price.

Not yet - that's not for centuries - and hopefully never because it would poison the Colorado river. The problem is that humans must choose - fairytales from the 70's aren't going to save us.
