10/31 Statins like Rosuvastatin will manage cholesterol alone where as Ezetimibe will be used as a second-line if the patient is at high cardiovascular risk such as prior strokes, heart attacks, or arterial disease. Then its used for stroke prevention.
Rosuvastatin is the statin of choice for older athletes; other statins can cause post-work delayed onset muscle sorness to be much worse than otherwise. Trump isn't an athlete, not by any shape or measure. (For that matter, neither am I anymore; I'd really like to get back on that horse.)
11/31 Trump's previous medical reports claim his cardiovascular health is great, and is on the statin, so he shouldn't need Ezetimibe.. But, this also brings us to the aspirin. As it turns out, aspirin hasn't been advised as a daily course prevention method for quite a while.

12/31 Some old doctors may still incorrectly prescribe it as such, but qualified medical staff who keep up with literature wouldn't. A daily aspirin dose is now used as a blood thinner for specific lines of treatment, including in managing ischemic strokes.
Don’t know what your definition of “old” is, but I have a close friend (HBP/Hi cholesterol/post-stroke) whose 50-ish doctor routinely updates on current medical thinking and has never mentioned discontinuing daily 81mg aspirin.
Post-stroke being the operative thing here, he said it's still used for people who are stroke risks which anyone who's had a stroke before is.
I had a heart attack in 2019. My doctors put me on aspirin til 2020, then took me off and replaced it with Clopidogrel saying this is the current accepted treatment. Am also on several other heart and cholesterol medications. Of course, I am not a doctor, nor a stroke risk (according to them).
13/31 Then in June, we see Trump's swollen ankles, and for the first time, the White House medical team is willing to admit: 1) He's got "CVI" 2) His bruising is related to "aspirin regime" and shaking hands.

I had a stroke 3yrs ago - I was 69. I was lucky: I was in hospital in treatment within 30 min. No lasting side effects except right side tingling. My cholesterol was thru the roof. Since then I’m on Rosuvastatin and baby aspirin. I was always fit: no ❤️ issues, no diabetes, no swollen feet.

It’s the same. For most people, it disappears within a year. I belong to the small group for whom it’s permanent. We tried medication: didn’t make any difference and made me drowsy: I just have to live with it
I’m afraid I’m a member of that small group too😉. I don’t complain, it could have been far worse.
Yes, that’s my attitude too. In winter it gets worse (I bought a pair of fingerless gloves, which seems to help a bit) and also when I’m tired. And I don’t taste subtler taste differences as before But I can do everything I did before - grateful
