Mine too as I grew up near there. Nice work!
I really enjoyed visiting Sedona on one our travels. Beautiful.
Has a nostalgic, romantic feel reminiscent of enduring well loved 20th century travel posters. Captivated by the vibe, colour & love in this painting.
🤗
Hey Jim, would it be possible to get your paintings as high-res wallpapers for my PC? Great work!
Gorgeous!!!!!😍
Beautiful 😍
Love your light
Wonderful light and colour!
Stunning
Love it!
Great depth of field.
Stunning! Great use of color theory; fab composition.
I like it. A lot! Keep up the great work.
rather nice
Like it a lot! Beautiful.
I sincerely think it's very beautiful and colorful. Congrats on it. Keep up your great job.👍👏
Absolutely breathtaking!
I LIVE HERE
The view from my house in Sedona…Did you lock the door ?
I'll tell you what I think... I think I want that hanging in my living room! Nice job!
Love your use of color. I wish I could do that.
Wow
Beautiful
It’s gorgeous!
Spectacular! Especially the sky, great choice of color.
RDR2 vibes!
Beautiful
🤩
This is an original from our good friend Michael Heffer. We love this painting! Your style is similar. Love your work, as is. Keep it coming!
Love it! Beautiful!
That is beautiful!!! If I could afford to buy art, I’d buy it!
Love the colors!
I like that value-added painting. Too often, I see a landscape in which an artist wore himself out. The sky is simply a vague afterthought. You, however, provide a stunning skyscape as a bonus!
Skies come first!
My western US landscapes are 75% or more sky. My Cezzane print is 15% sky. Southern US is 50%. Is it my collection or is that how things are?
I have a trick to do the same thing - I use the app Happy Color! And voilà! Same picture!
I very much like the style, but the subject doesn’t do much for me.
Love it!
Very nicely done!
❤️❤️❤️
😉
i love it giving more oregon trail vibes
Beautiful!
...something about the diagonals and the blue sky bothers me..
Beautiful
Gorgeous! You are a very talented painter!
I wanted to say that I really love this, and then lost track of 5 minutes staring at it before remembering to say that I love it. Take that as you will.
Magic.
Stunning.
Very nice. Beautiful
I'd hang this on my wall, no doubt.
Wow! I love it! So much depth! And the colors are beautiful!
It’s beautiful and very relaxing. 👏👏👏
What an epic painting 🖼️ keep up the good work Jim 👏😉
Now you have to build me a Craftsman House. Your painting will be the focal point.
Beautiful! Wish I had an iota of your talent
Lovely. Accurate as well as an individual view.
that's amazing too keep it up
50 yrs...
regardless you're very talented
Beautiful!
Man, with that pencil work I'm pretty sure you'd have no trouble learning to paint.
Those are incredible!
Fantastic work on those, once again. Thank you for sharing them.
It’s like a Van Gogh
Love it!!
I like it--the style reminds me a bit of the Group of seven, but at the same time not at all; if that makes sense. I like the colours and the feel of the scene.
It's beautiful!
I love it! I just wish the tree was whole😉
Wow. So beautiful. Is it Sedona? Utah?
Not as beautiful as you are Laurie 😍 where are you from ?…. Would love to have a chat with you get to know you better if you don’t mind
I live in LA. From Baltimore. Thanks. Very sweet
Dms all boring 🥱 lol
Wow really I am from Oregon and live at sunny valley. You are welcome 🤗 was hoping we could chat 💬 privately
Sedona
I think that’s a lot better than anything I could paint!!!
Love it! Textured, sculptured feel to it. New follower 👍🏻
Love it!!!
Definitely has the Sedona vibe. Very cool.
Fantastic 👍👍
I like it. Colours are strong but I think it’s effective.
Lovely
I love it
I like it
I love it!! Especially the joyful feel of the sunlight on the rocks 😁🥰
I love this 😍😍 honestly gives me vibes from the Obojima book by 1985 games!! Or in Monster Hunter in the dessert levels hunting for Barroth's
I like it 🙂
Sedona? Strikingly beautiful, wherever it is
Fantastic color use 🏆
Love the composition! Quite dramatic!
I like it.
I think it's beautiful. Would love to see it in person. Pictures of art are never as good as the real thing.
Beautiful. I love the simplicity and the use of light.
This is amazing and dope
Always perfection! Beautiful.
very very nice
Very nice !
neat
For me, you’ve captured the essence of Monument Valley. Beautiful, thank you.🙏
Has a very 1930s railroad tourist poster feel to it. I mean that in the best possible sense.
It certainly has an AT&SF-Southwest vibe to it.
Beautiful! I love the light and shadows in the rocks and big, fluffy clouds. ☁️
It looks blocky and abrupt, to me. I like it.
Absolutely LOVE the design, the colors, and the paint technique!
I like it a lot. ❤️
I would be very proud of it. It’s beautiful! That said I think the eye is drawn a bit too much to the sky and especially the negative space between the clouds, which isn’t where the strength of the piece lies. I’d soften that shape and fade the blue a bit.
Not sure why, but when I look at your painting, I expect the clouds to float by! I LOVE IT!
Beautiful display of colors and plays with light and shadow. Also a lovely composition.
Gorgeous as always, Jim,
💐
I can feel how bright and sunny that day is! Just stunning!
Exactly
I like it.
Absolutely Gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’d like a couple of hours on that bench, please.
Is it acceptable for me to ask if we can chat about our interests? Sorry if this is sudden. I’m just not sure how else to make friends on here. I hate my autistic awkwardness sometimes.
I would buy it! Great job!
Love your art.
Excellent and inspiring!
I think it makes me want to be there. I like it.
I love it. On a pathway in nature one can see beautiful vistas and a multitude of colors that gently say, "from sunset to sunrise...I exist." Beautiful energy.
Jim your paintings are always a pleasure to view. If you really want me to critique this I'd say its one of your lesser works. The sunlight is portrayed as coming through the ridge... but this is not reflected on the tree on the right or the vegetation in the centre. The cubist element,....
...In the clouds for example doesn't pervade commitment and the depth of the distant mountains are not contoured. It seems a bit rushed. The preogrative of an artist is having time, once that is eluded then the quality is compromised. I have 😍 all of your previous paintings.
Incredible
It’s a beautiful celebration of life. Thanks for sharing ❤️
I’m an artist so I am critical- maybe a deeper palette. It looks very acrylic and not blended. Maybe it’s your style, but it needs more detail, it looks like it’s half finished. Paint what you actually see, not what you think you see, and then your work will stand out in a crowd.
Wow. Couldn't disagree more. Take a photograph if you want to see what one actually sees. Good art shows what the artist thinks they see. It makes us feel it. I live in Sedona and the flat colors are a wonderful match for the dry, saturated vibe of the town. I can hear the rocks on that trail.
Agree, they all have a paint -by- numbers vibe. Not my cup if tea.
Beautiful work on it. 😊
Beautiful. You really captured the actual colors and lighting of the landscape.
Awesome
It is beautiful but feels like it is not quite done. It seems to be lacking texture
I wanted a little cleaner look
Understandable. Everyone has different taste, style and technique.
Awesome.
I like it. I'd place in on a wall where a window would be and imagine it's my backyard. Well done
Beautiful, good job 👍
Keep your day job
If his day job is painting, yes.
I guess it's OK if you enjoy gorgeous landscapes and that type of thing. (Honestly, it's AWESOME!)
wow
Sedona ❤️
Beautiful, really love the contrast of the colors ❤️
Love it
Glorious
It's beautiful! Feels straight out of Red Dead Redemption.
Wow!
Beautiful!👏🏽👏🏽
Gorgeous. Makes me miss the area and try planning a trip. Will have to check out more of your work.
😍😍😍
Nice!
Love it!
Beautiful.
spectacular🥰
Nicely done.
I don't know art terms, but I like how non-blended(?) it is. For instance, the clouds are not wispy. They are out and proud clouds!
Pretty accurate with your color choices, I do think you've captured the scene perfectly. I like it.
I love your work. I'm starting to recognize it!
It’s looks so KWEL
Love this palette and your technique is en pointe
Wow!
I love it, captures the feeling of the desert well.
Heyyy looking pretty girl 💞
Molto bello!💗
Gorgeous!
Excellent. Much obliged.
Stunning!
Holy crap
Amazing right 🥲
For sure!, this is making me wanna continue my attempts at landscape painting
Really you do paint as well ?…that’s amazing 🥲 can we chat 💬 privately
I mostly do digital stuff, easier to undo like that. But I somewhat recently decided to try making some landscape stuff I'd like to try making some more sometime soon
That’s cool Where are you from?…..can we be friends??
Reminds me of the Great Basin Desert.
I think that my first impression is that the work seems to carry it's own sense of lighting that's independent of any other light because of the delineation of the shadows/shade relative to the eye-popping brighter light. It's great.
Utah or New Mexico?
Love it
Lovely!
Gorgeous.
Cool
Oh wow, it's gorgeous! The texture and brushwork really add to the piece.
Gorgeous. WA state?
I thought that was a bench in front, and I wanted to sit and wonder what was around the corner, behind the tree.
Love the vivid colors
Amazing!
great 👍
I think your art is amazing. Beautiful!
I like the rocks, but where is the sun? Shadows are inconsistent. I would gladly put this on my wall anyway.
I don’t have the words to fully express the enjoyment I felt experiencing your work. Suffice it to say: well done and thank you - it’s a stunning piece.
This is inviting me to walk that path so that I may reach out and touch that tree. 🙂 Brilliant capture.
It’s lovely and will brighten any room. The composition is impressive.
Now a little house there in the distance before the pillar and we're set
Beautiful - almost a Frazetta-esque hint with the strong use of colors. Well done!! 😎
Beautiful!
Nice
Outstanding 😍
I think I've been playing too much zelda botw. Started looking for shrines. Ps, awesome work.
This past week, the clouds over Sedona Az are looking just like this and one can feel Fall in the air. ❤️
Beautiful
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Beautiful!
Terrific!
Fantastic!
Very nice, gives me the feeling of autumn, which is right around the corner.
Acrylic?
Yes
Keep up the good work.
Engaging
Love it!
Your style is captivating! I love them all.
Love it - a bright WPA rendition !
Absolutely stunning! Well done!
Love your painting style.
Beautiful, love the chonky brushstrokes in the sky.
I love it
Love it! The light is glowing.
Looks like oak creek canyon
Pretty
Very nice work!
I love Southwestern Art. It's so beautiful and so much nicer to see the art than endure the oppressive heat and dust to see the original.
It’s so beautiful!!!! It has such a sense of peace…
Honestly one of my favorites
Fabulous!
Well done👍
❤️❤️❤️big fan of this style
