Alex, I read through some stuff I wrote about like 6-8 years ago and man… I wonder why some of y‘all ever stuck around to become friends with me and stood by me through so many things. Really not a fan of how I acted back when I was still a popular artist. I‘m so glad I decided to step away.

Yeah that‘s how I feel as well, but to get to that point you gotta face the past in intervalls. And sometimes things just have been shitty, you know, and there is no excuse for them - only a promise to do better from now on.

And yes, we just do better or different. We learn and accept, appreciate.

I used to think a lot about key what ifs. What if I had made that other decision? What if I had chosen that other path? What would I have learned and who would I have met? Who would I not have met? I think way less about these things now, but everything adds up.

I have found "what ifs" or "should haves" never really helped me. Only a recognition that things happened the way they did and instead of beating myself up, I train myself to focus that on a forward movement and the promise that when a similar thing happens again, I will make a different decision.

Yeah, I agree. I think sometimes that was out of regret, but sometimes just out of curiosity. I think you go through certain events and meet certain people based on your series of larger choices, and I just wonder what the alternate would have been. But…less now, as I am in the life I want.

Absolutely. Good or bad, we meet the people we have to meet, and often the "bad" relationships are the ones that bring us the furthest.

I was going to say just this. I can be difficult looking back, but as our understanding grow we too can see the growth we made.

Its personal growth. We all make mistakes say things we shouldnt but you have recognised them and moved on which is whats really important.

oh totally! the only time i ever kept something like a regular diary was at the end of high school and I could not have picked a worse time 😅 (and LJ 🫣!) but if I'm not a little bit embarassed by my past self it would mean I haven"t grown. so the more ashamed i am, the better i am today 🤓
