All factors must be taken into account when planning an energy strategy. Storing used nuclear fuel with reasonable safety has to be part of the answer. I've wondered why the residual heat it produces can't also be harvested for energy, so even the disposal will yield a dividend.

And if the site remains an energy harvest site, it's more likely to not be forgotten by future generations.
