I haven't done a ton of slab climbing, so this route, called 'The Rook' was certainly my most challenging outdoor climb yet. Over the ledge, the crux of the route nearly made me turn back. My arms were really on fire before trusting my foot grip enough to offset the load. So. Much. Fun.💜

I really thought we were smarter than this. Like, to my core, I didn't think so much time and energy could or would be spent attacking groups of people, instead of actually addressing the issues we've always faced here. But its like they had no other card left to pull, so they pulled it. Sad.
The same issues exist in the United States before the 2016 election, and many, many more. The main difference now is, Republicans have invented a landslide of fixes for issues that never really existed(trans people demanding rights), while ignoring the actual issues the average American faces.
I truly wish there weren't so many people that genuinely believe that all of a sudden, there was this influx of trans people, demanding acceptance and rights they never previously had. Republicans invented this false ideology. Same thing they always do: distract, dissuade, then deflect.

I've worked in politics before. While he may have ideas that seem to match the radicalism going on right now, it also includes the same, tired playbook of lifting up the same rich, white people into power.
He panders to the very people that are cheering on this fascist regime. His words are to cement a presidential campaign. And as a trans person, I can tell you that his version of 'We The People' does not include people like me, or the homeless, nor does it include equality for all.
I need you to understand something, from the lived experience of a marginalized person: Gavin Newsom is an opportunist. He has precisely NO interest in doing anything differently than strengthening the systems of oppression that got us to this point in time in the first place.
