I think you are going to tell us that you liked this episode more then the "what is Starfleet"...
...wouldn't be hard...
That is logical.
Will you be doing any coverage of the Khan podcast/ audio drama?
We will! not sure exactly in what format but we will :)
After the worst episode i loved this one. Hillarious! Not S-Tier but solid A-Tier comedy episode. 8/10
ok romula'an was very good
It was....awful. I was so disappointed.
I also had thoughts... not good ones unfortunately. 😭
I get the feeling another long rant was coming... did anyone warn Eddie? 😆🖖
Doug to me is the unsaid part of Vulcan logic, it must have an emotional starting point to base that logic upon. That's how you also get people like Krill because logic is not universal.
Well-titled video this week!😮
I liked the episode a lot more than you guys did, but my sticking point is the sheer narrative handwavium where nobody is too fussed about breaking the Federation's prohibition on genetic manipulation to avoid breeching the Prime Directive? Really? #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds #Spoilers
The amount of biological essentialism in this ep was somewhat painful form a trans person’s perspective. Also compare the Spock-La’an interaction at the end with Ketoul’s chat with La’an in “Ad Astra Per Aspera” and you’ll see (and hear) a huge contrast. The latter I shed tears 🥲, the former 😡
This has been the episode I have been dreading the most since the preview dropped. Even more so since last week when Spock mentioned his childhood.
Judging the episode as part of Star Trek, I hated it. As 50+ mins of general entertainment, it was ok. Had comedic moments that were enjoyable, character building moments that were insightful. But, it felt fragmented, tones of certain scenes clashed and it felt... silly, and not in a fun/good way 😞
Normally a Star Trek episode giving its audience many thoughts is a great thing, because those prior episodes had some of the writers' own thoughts and care and effort put into them. And this one was quite not that
You have thoughts. You articulate those thoughts to camera. We watch it. We agree... or don't. We watch more Star Trek. This is how it works, no?
In a nutshell!
(Spoilers) …so we’re all going to refer to her as Romula’an, right?
I have thoughts too. And they’ll be coming out in a little over an hour…. As long as the computer does its rendering properly…..
I feel like I'm turning into a Star Trek grump, but on the whole, I agreed with you and Tom again😀 Doug was the unexpected (relative) highlight for me, mainly I think as he came along at the right moment amongst things that weren't landing, and it was so absurd that it somehow worked (for a bit).
Hey @seanferrick.bsky.social during observations the sad intro music randomly plays
Its like when they play people off during their Oscars speech
