I miss Lower Decks #StarTrek
I miss Lower Decks #StarTrek
Same. I am constantly rewatching Lower Decks.
One reason I'm looking forward to Starfleet Academy. If we can't get Tawny Newsome onscreen (or as a voice actress) at least we'll (supposedly) have her in the Writer's room.
Me too.
Me too. Especially Tendi. Miss them all. #StarTrekLowerDecks #StarTrekLDS
Um...yeah!
Me too. The more I think about it, the more I reckon Four and a half Vulcans would have worked better in Lower Decks (and may even have been one of their proposed stories reused). Shorter run time, jokes might not seem to overrun that way, the intended messages might have landed better too?

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I literally just finished the series two weekends ago. The first time I tried watching, I couldn't get past the first episode. But then some people whose opinions I respected got into it, and I heard some great interviews with Tawny Newsome, and I gave it another shot. And loved it.
Now that’s a group of people that could pull off comedy in the Star Trek universe.
Me when they announced the final season.
Hard same.
Doesn't everyone?
Also, Pike is fairly soft spoken as a captain, so I suspect Mount was also told to speak much louder while Vulcan. (Not grasping to defend, but looking at things with a different perspective.) And, yeah.... Primanti's is... Did your research also mention the fried egg and coleslaw? It's a lot.
Watching U&Ds for 4&HV and I would make one argument. One aspect of Pike that isn't really discussed is his attention to detail: Cooking Vulcan food for Spock & T'Pring's parents. Negotiating w new species. When he's assigning crew. Maybe it was that attention to detail that was turned up to 11?
I agree... but I also liked FOUR AND A HALF VULCANS.
How this storng Woman never had a Marge Simpsons like emotionally breakdown is beyond my comprehension. She literally got sick because she cared too much for her crew.
So too does the SNW writers room apparently
I miss when star trek wasn't owned by fascists
Hard to screw that one up.
Yeah, me too. It was so good and funny.😂
Honestly, given the age difference between the characters and their actors, i'd love to see a Picard era live action Upper Decks with Captain Boimler and XO Mariner. Those old scientists made me really want their characters in live action.
I do too, and I hope Lower Desks misses us too....
So say we all.
We all do @seanferrick.bsky.social but I am glad that Strange New Worlds has cranked up the humour in episodes this season to (possibly) compensate.
I miss DS9
Yep
Moopsie
I miss Prodigy even more ...
It seems like a lower budget show like that, since I can’t imagine the animation costs as much as a live action show, would be something that could have run for longer
I miss Lower Decks and Discovery 😞🖖
Same. We're not the same without Moopsy.
Animation is a great medium for Star Trek and Lower Decks proved it. Would be fun to see star trek in Aardman Animations style, or something like Star Wars Visions, self contained stories, not necessarily canonical, with distinct styles 🤔
Not a day goes by where I don't lament it ending 😭
Me too Seán, me too 😔
It Never made my top Trek shows. I found it rather glib and inaccessible a lot of the time. But at least it wasn’t as prequel or direct sequel.
I find your claim of it being inaccessible interesting, since my S/O is in no way a Trek fan, but I convinced her to watch and she loved the series. Deep knowledge of the franchise is definitely a plus to enjoying Lower Decks but I wouldn't call it a prerequisite.
Yeah, true. My feeling is not just related to the Star Trek lore, I find the show very American centric in is depiction of the ST universe. There is lot of syntax and culture that are seemingly only open to you if you are from there. It has alway been a party of ST LD supercharged it, IMO.
Valid!
Yeah, I hate that I had that reaction to a new post TNG-era show, but it is how the series hit me. Liked the DS9 ep though!
Thirding
What's that? Time for the annual Schitt's Creek rewatch? Don't mind if I do!
Always time for a great Canadian show that becomes popular after season 1 and then has to hide that is Canadian.
Could always bust out Frisky Dingo. Or MEGAS XLR. Or go through Bob’s Burgers/ The Great North.
Me too. I really miss these dear friends.
So do I. 🖖
Petra did a better job of challenging Starfleet as a quasi-military than Beto did.
I don’t think I realized how much I miss it until I read that.
I still hope for a Starbase 80 spinoff. Maybe with Boims, Mariner, Rutherford, and Tendi taking over.
And I forgot T'Lyn. I am ashamed.
I miss Discovery Lower decks And Prodigy.
*sad Moopsy sounds*
Me too... I'm also watching s2e1 right now. Ransom just got his Neutral Zone kicked! Classic.
Same.
If you don’t watch the last episode, is it really over then?
Abso-fragging-lutely 100% every day
Lower Decks is never off my playlist. I may take a break every so often, but I always come back to it. Today's rewatch: "Twovix" - cos shit got crazy on Voyager.
🥺
