I don’t begrudge anyone a day off, especially working people. Personally, I don’t love the timing of Labor Day

It's just too bad that so so many working people-- including union members-- don't have the day off. May 1 would be great, but the priority should be to make it an actual holiday and either close all retail and restaurants or mandate anyone working gets triple-time at a minimum.

For a day celebrating labor? May 1. For a day off in the fall? Maybe first weekend in October or last weekend in September
