Thank you for this Texas Paul. I am going through one of the worst bouts of depression I’ve ever experienced. I actually told my 85 year old mother yesterday that I would prefer being dead. I’m ashamed I scared her. It helps knowing others are struggling too. You keep fighting and I will too.
Have you checked with your doctor or your insurance for possible counseling support? I had a good friend who suffered from depression bouts a lot & he got some wonderful support from a counselor he saw plus meds. Be kind to yourself....we are here. :)
It sucks that you know if you have to tell people what’s going on you’re going to scare them. Or feel like you’re burdening them. I even frustrated my psychiatrist this morning. But I can see it all from above at the same time and it just looks so dumb, such a waste to feel like this.
It’s ok, better to express how you are feeling than to bottle it up! A family member just started medication for depression. We don’t know it it’s the right thing for them yet. But having someone to just listen without judging or telling them how they should feel seemed to help. (Virtual Hug!)
