Newsom doesn’t even have policy proposals. There is literally one thing about a Newsom presidency that we know he would do differently than Trump and it is “hating trans people harder”.

it's really kindof unbelievable that every post that's like "Hey I'm not going to vote for Gavin Newsom because he's going on right wing talk shows and saying ehhh i don't know if trans people are real?" gets replies saying "OOHH so you want trump to win huh? All you people deserve to die!"

I'm protecting marginalized people from predatory candidates who know they don't have to make any promises to them but can still expect their votes. If you pledge to vote for anyone with a D next to their name no matter what, why would any candidate listen to you when you tell them your needs?

I pray for the day someone like Mamdani or AOC gets the Dem nomination and we see whether all the vote blue no matter who people are ready to walk the walk

Because there will be a primary where they do need to compete for our votes. I want a progressive candidate who will do those things, but I won't self immolate and let the country burn down if I don't get everything I want.
