Ever wonder why Starbucks costs so much? Might want to start with CEO compensation. In 2024 it was $95.8 million. How much do you think they're paying a barista?

Pennies or fractions of pennies On the dollar.
There are many reasons their CEO isn’t worth what the board pays him, but Starbucks sells around 7.5 billion cups of coffee a year, meaning eliminating his salary would lower the price about $0.012.
Most ceos I’ve met are vile. Part of the job description for many.
Whoa!
Make coffee at home.
I make my morning coffee at home, but I admit to an addiction to an occasional midday cappuccino.
No CEO, not anywhere, not at any time is worth that kind of dough. They just don't.
I wonder what would happen if the top person in the company could not make more than 200x what the lowest paid person made? That is still a heck of an incentive to move up in a company, but might keep the lowest paid workers from starving.
I've never been in a Starbucks and never plan to. I've heard all about their ridiculous prices.
