There was always going to be at least one. Whatever the next technology is, there is going to be at least one of those too. I do not, however, consent to taking him seriously. The baffling thing about this is that any of his customers could just do the same thing on their phones whenever they like.
The irony is that they will have to argue that their work is valuable because of the unique skill and effort involved.
“Giving outsiders a shot at stardom” is such an insidious phrase. Reminds me of the artists who swore their art “didn’t have any value” until they created NFTs, even though that usually DEVALUED their work at the end of the day.
Right, everything always seems to have an economic perspective. Art has no intrinsic value beyond the money and fame it can bring you. It’s just a means to an end and that’s what that line says to me.
These days, if the article author states that they cover “innovation” in their bio, you know you are in for completely uncritical puff pieces.
