As an example, here in the UK we had a right leaning gov for almost 15 years, when the (traditionally) left leaning party came into power at the last election they doubled down on a lot of right wing policy because they were concerned about losing support from those who had changed sides. 1/2
I said that the other day about our Homeland Security Department. It was started by Bush after 9/11 and we should have shut it down after he left office.
Add to that the way the Democratic party has been fumbling everything and certain prominent figures have been pandering to the right in various ways, my concern is that you're gonna go down the same route. Hopefully I'm wrong. 2/2.
