This doesn't surprise me whatsoever. TMNT was everywhere in 1990, at the height of Turtlemania. It was the butt of many jokes, tongue-in-cheek references in ad copy, sitcoms, you name it. Literally everything was competing with TMNT for views and revenue.

Here's a trade ad that really illustrates how big Turtlemania was in 1990 leading up to the release of that first film. #1 video game #1 cartoon series #1 action toy #1 breakfast cereal #1 comic book

I can also remember epic playground fights over stupid shit like New Kids on the Block vs. TMNT, as NKOTB was also HUGE during this era.

The period of like 1989 - 1994 were very much my formative years. 1990 in particular.

Thanks for posting this TMNT soundtrack trade advert; I had never seen it before. It's amazing how quickly SBK got everything together, coming onto the film a few months before the release and fulfilling the hype on this advert, especially their wording of the TURTLE Power song.
