I know what the OP was *trying* to say, exaggerating Newsom's trump style tweets. By attempting to extending it to Newsom/Trump supporters, he's gotten confused. The image now suggests Newsom supporters are as batshit as Maga. Sad!

The ignorance is not realizing a lot of people study satire in schools. Most journalism students have to learn about it while in school. It's pretty important that journalists are able to know what it is. Posting like some high school freshman is just a bonus way of acting like a Maga chud.

With deepest respect, the fact that “a lot of people study satire in school” is one of the reasons “I studied satire in college” is not the flex he thinks it is.

I would agree that this is not really satire...but I do think it is a good way of antagonizing the administration. Something like "hey...we have the same sort of support you do...you're not unique." Or with the Ivanka one "your favorite person likes me more." It seems to be effective needling.
