My take on many of my fellow Americans is not that they're physically lazy. It's a mental state. They're lackadaisical, lacking enthusiasm/determination; carelessly lazy is the definition and is so apt. They're used to being cogs and terrified of change. Frozen in place. It takes courage to change.
