LOL! She's wiser than you are! I thought about buying one, but I realized I'm more a fan of Detroit-style than of sfincione, so I bought one of those pans, instead, and I use a sheet pan for my tomato pies. Works well enough for my purposes.

They were her mothers after all, but I still beg for them. 50-70 yrs of seasoning on those pans.
I absolutely understand. My grandmother's cast iron went to one of my aunts and then to my cousin, who doesn't even cook. I'm holding out hope for an ancient cast iron Dutch oven from a Cajun body of mine who just refuses to die.
