Newsom should just do it by fiat. Just like Trump is doing. And when the courts say it's illegal, just ignore them. Just like Trump is doing.

Cool. US law says the president can't impose tariffs either. But here we fucking are. There's nothing that says Newsom can't put in the redistricting he wants in and then after the election do a retroactive referendum. It's time we get just as creatively corrupt as the GOP.

Both states will be sued over this so they better get their ducks in a row. If California votes for it there's less chance of it getting overturned and if we wait too long and a judge rules they have to follow California law there might not be time to hold a special election for the maps.
