His wealth based on his stock holdings is so heavily based on the perception of Musk. The less people think he'll come out unscathed, the lower his net worth goes.

Oh absolutely, but even beyond that he still has a bunch of stuff that's worth a lot of money, especially after the last rounds of Starlink contracts I don't think he wins, but I do think he has the resources to do damage Which is good for the rest of us

I mean, see below. Musk seems extremely vulnerable to state power -- and don't forget how he has so many things secured by Tesla stock (like Twitter stake), and crashing stock prices can force him to sell or commit more stock as collateral. bsky.app/profile/fina...
