Why does that weekend matter? Would the game lose relevance if it were played on October 3?

It’s a tradition that families and friends plan events and trips around each year. It matters to people. I know what I’m doing on the 3rd weekend of October each year.
Sure, and it would be impossible to do that same trip on the 2’d weekend LOL
You don’t get it and that’s ok!
I get it. I just think you’re being childish,
I don’t really give a shit what you think of my maturity level.
That’s fine. I don’t really give a shit about Tennessee football. That’s fine too.
Even if the conference doesn’t schedule it, the schools still can. If it matters to them. And have they even listed the protected rivalries yet? I haven’t seen an official announcement, only speculation. So how about y’all calm down.
"Third Saturday In October" is literally(1) the name of the rivalry.
Sure, and doing it on the 2nd weekend makes the game meaningless LOL
Yep. It does. Makes it totally meaningless. Less than meaningless - is that a thing? Just cancel the season & disband the sec. It’s lost all meaning. Actually, my life now has no meaning, really. The third sat in Oct was be lynch pin of my life and now it’s gone. Thank you for pointing all this out.
No problem. The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem.
By the same logic, why not have the Michigan/Ohio State game be played in week One? Come on.
I’m sure those schools wouldn’t care about the outcome then. Besides there’s a huge difference between a year end finale and a midseason game.
Why not move the "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" out of Jacksonville, then? Either some traditions still matter, or they don't.
LOL. You might want to google future sites for that game
