Switzerland is great but I understand the US size limitations. I live in WI. What would have improved things for my state, a high speed system that would link Milwaukee to Madison, was killed by Scott Walker in 2010. Projects like this could lead to more links to cities in the region and beyond.
Unless there are plans to immediately expand, I’m not sure that spending a hundreds of millions of dollars to build a train track to replace an hours drive with a 45 minute train trip makes a ton of financial sense. Now if you run the track to Minneapolis, Chicago, Des Moines, Iowa City, St Louis…
