Not entirely. Local and state police in CA are now refusing to provide backup to ICE, saying it’s a federal operation. I don’t think it will be long before this erupts into violence between law enforcement and I think it’s escalating toward civil war on both sides, meaning state(s) against federal.
I'm in California, and I believe the local police need to go further than just not backing them up. They need to actively go there and stop these masked kidnappers- ask for ID and what their evidence is that a crime was committed. Don't let them drag people into their cars.
Local police asking them to identify themselves and asking for judicial warrants would go a long way towards stopping the unlawful and violent treatment we've been seeing everywhere. It would also prevent people from just being snatched off the street and being disappeared.
It's called arrest warrants signed by a judge. Don't have one? It's illegal.
