Let's remember that a significant cause of these wildfires is the consumption of oil & gas. Oil and gas production account for 15% of CO2 emissions, while their consumption contributes to 40% of emissions. Is the O&G industry on the Prairies worth Northern destruction?
At a single location alone, Cenovus Energy, they are losing out on 238,000 barrels of oil a day because of the fires forcing them to limit output. To save oil and gas, they will have to save the world. I wonder if they'll ever figure it out. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
