At some point you're going to have to grapple with the fact that this 'good message' failed to either depress Dem turnout, and failed to change the share of independents and Republicans voting Dem.

As I've said earlier, my priors are that it didn't actually move the needle much either way, but it's really weird how a certain subset of internet leftists are laser-focused on this issue to the exclusion of a lot of other more important things the campaign had going for it.
I don't really think it's this huge deal sign of some Massive Betrayal and it's super weird that a lot of people seem to repeat the same talking points about it, verbatim, to bash Harris instead of acknowledging that it may have been a mistake to campaign against her in late 2024.
As much as I'd like to believe people on social media noting Harris was actively tying herself to unpopular conservatives and the unpopular incumbent was a bad idea was somehow effective at derailing a billion dollar presidential campaign, I've not yet sustained that much brain damage.
Polls showed that something like 65% of the electorate viewed Harris as "too liberal" and only 5% viewed her as "too conservative" but you're right, it made no sense to appeal to a sense of universal outrage at Trump's antidemocratic tendencies, she should have just said she was a communist.
You're so angry at observable reality that you're now lashing out at strawmen.
I think the part of observable reality I am angry at is that it is batshit fucking nuts that *Liz Cheney* had the moral clarity to set aside her political differences and tell people to vote for the obvious candidate, and a ton of my ostensible allies on the left did not.
I'm not sure what reason you have to believe this is what happened, other than your clearly faulty priors.
Which part do you take issue with?
There's no reason to believe that a hard left contingent staying home was what caused Kamala to lose. It is posthoc cope stemming from seeing people on the left correctly note her terrible campaign choices as they were happening.
