Likely. Electricity in rural areas was rare at that time. My mother talked about those old irons that had to heated on an open flame. She used them from the late 1920s until electric irons were affordable.

I watch alot of movies. ALOT of movies. Most don't stick. Sinners did. I completely and totally LOVED it. The story, the casting, the costumes, the cinematography...all were 1st rate. Absolutely BRILLIANTLY done horror movie.

I have no idea how everyone wore so many fucking layers in the American south, no less. I get that it's a lot of very breathable linens, but still. It's too hot in the south when you are butt ass nekkid. Also without the three times a day shower I need when I'm down there as well.
