I had 40+ kg of mirabelle plums this year. A lot of work. I was thinking about cutting down the tree. 😂😂

Please tell me how you use them.
You can also freeze mirabelle plums. To do this, remove the stones, pre-freeze them individually (without touching) on a tray or similar, and then finish freezing in a vacuum bag.
I just learned that it is apparently illegal to import Mirabelle plums to the US. Sigh. I want to add that I have not had even ONE good peach this summer.
All my apples were rotten. It wasn't the weather. I've had this garden for two years, and I'm currently learning more about caterpillars and moths than about the plants. 🤪 ps: you can buy seeds. Must be very patient then. 🙂
Good point about seeds, and sorry about the apples. They are challenging to grow without pesticides.
Thanks for this! They sound delicious. I am not sure if they are grown in southern New England where I live but I will do some research.
One more note. My father always said: the first plums are rotten. That's because of the plum moth caterpillars. From August onwards, you'll hardly find any fruit with holes. Still, look at all the fruits carefully. 😉
I wash the mirabelle plums and remove any bad ones. Then I boil them, stones included, in a pot until they become mush. I puree it through a sieve. Then I bring it to a boil again with preserving sugar, season it with cinnamon if desired, and fill it into sterile jars.
