I think it's more that they moved from a very detailed political program describing the world they'd eventually like to see to a broader statement of positions that mentions specific policies they're currently fighting for – in part to give DSA candidates concrete policies to campaign on.

Can confirm that it’s been more simplified with the workers deserve more pamphlet we made. Also we voted to have a permanent program at the most recent convention. That should come out in early to mid 2026

R34 made "Workers Deserve More" the sole program and created a committee to amend it based on the 2025 convention, right? So won't the permanent program promoted next year just be an amended version of Workers Deserve More, as opposed to a totally new permanent program?

Good point on both accounts. Though the BnR resolution does say edits could be changed, and the name could be changed in the future too. If future conventions deem it necessary so there’s that.
