i haven't done it in a long time but i LOVED reading fic in a fandom I had no experience with. it's so freeing to just read about some hot people being sexy in Situations without any notion of how consistent it might be with canon it happened a lot more when anime was difficult & expensive to access
yes, it's kinda magical! for me i think it's vital though that i am induced by a person whose vision i trust, maybe just on account if how utterly unhinged they are about it. if i have to find my way around a strange fandom all by myself, i easily get overwhelmed by all the choice
yeah that makes sense! I feel like it was a lot easier to go in blind when fandoms in general were a lot smaller and more approachable
