Early humans were not the top of the food chain. Survival required specialized skill sets. Communities organized around basic resources and developed technologies to create the products needed to live. Food, shelter, clothing. Then culture. Colonialism is really all about globalization. 2/x

No one place on the planet has an abundance of all resources needed to sustain the complex social structure that is humanity. Hunter gatherers evolved from extended families into tribal communities. More complex demands led to specialized skills and transactions such as sharing and barter. 3/x

The growth and interaction between communities has a variety of outcomes, one of the most productive being trade. Continued collective existence results in growth and complexity. We develop money. What we have named Capitalism is a rules based system that creates currency to facilitate trade.
