We are being asked to say prayers for people shot while praying in church and I just can't help but see the tragic irony in that.

Guns are tools for killing. They are extremely efficient but they do not cause killing. People have been killing people for a long time. So to completely ignore the shooter and just blame guns is idiotic and unhelpful. Do you think war only happens because of guns?

Guns are not the problem. The problem is that the people who want to kill having guns. And that's not even the whole problem, if they didn't have guns they would still find a way to kill. You can't solve this problem by just making guns illegal. Saying that you would is just unintelligent.
