Oh my goodness my post about the irony of doing the thoughts and prayers thing over ANOTHER church shooting upset some Christians. That's too damn bad I don't worship your God, nor am I a member of your book club.

“God, please let me win the lottery! I’ve been praying to you for years and…nothing?” God : “You never bought the ticket.”
book burning club?
Right on !
...and never will be!!! EVER.
I believe God helps those who help themselves. We ain't doing that.😒
Thoughts and prayers are not the only thing God calls Christians to do The Bible is full of action steps. Vote!
What’s weird to me, is prayer was intended as a discussion between the faithful and God for God to guide the person praying. It became something very different and ‘sending up prayers’ is pleading for an ambivalent being to have mercy on his creation.
God and Jesus upset "christians". Fuck them.
My imaginary dialogue: Evangelicals: “Dear God! Bless the souls of those murdered children, and stop these awful shootings!” Goddess: “What in the name of Cernunnos is the matter with you people?! You didn’t even have to get rid of the guns yourself! All you had to do was vote for people who would!”
They’re scared of being called out. There’s some lurking part of their unconscious that knows they are abhorrent and they need their conscious self to smash the thoughts back down. They are broken and don’t want to be fixed.
Maybe if they listened to people outside of their faith telling them guns are bad with mountains of data to support it they wouldnt need thoughts and prayers for the kids that died and were injured.
Good. Just start calling them pro- mass shootings. They care more about gun rights than any of the victims’ rights that Jefferson wrote were unalienable, but sure as hell have been with each bullet fired.
People create the problems, people perpetuate the problems, people reject sensible solutions to alleviate the problems, then pray to 'God' to fix everything they've refused to address themselves. Go figure.
Perhaps if they were to post the 10 Commandments prominently this could have been avoided.
It’s immoral and lazy and an affront to any God one may believe in to pray to that God about the things one refuses to try and change themselves
You’re doing it right then👏
Christians live to be upset. They call it love for some reason.
