A lot of D's with a range of political views dislike Newsom, even when they applaud some of his actions. There's nothing wrong with that. There are a number of good candidates out there. As you say, none of them are pure or perfect.

I guess it depends what someone means by the labels. I don't see a lot of consistency out there. The Democratic nominee for mayor of NYC is a member of the DSA and arguably a leftist, but I think a Democratic nominee is by definition a Democrat.

DSA is 88% White and 65% male and if there's anything that says equality it's a group that mostly attracts White males.
