Today in @thetimes.com, it’s hot - time for some good mid-strength beers, instead of beers that have cynically lowered their ABV to take advantage of duty savings and not pass that on to the drinker. These six less alcohol, but no less flavour. www.thetimes.com/life-style/f...

Sounds like the government's logic has worked from a health perspective, if higher duties have led to brewers reducing ABV? (Even if it's also led to profiteering!)

Oh no, hazy ipas have destroyed my sense of moderation. I'd think of anything under 4% as low abv and 4-6% as mid... 😬

I remember my mother telling me that, when she was carrying me, her doctor advised a glass of Mackeson every other day “to help her iron levels.” I presume she just fancied a glass!

Used to love Mackesons after reading Michael Jackson's praise for it. But last time I tried it (probably about five years ago) it tasted a bit watery compared to what I remembered it. Maybe it's time to try it again.
