Better than those boring round tomatoes!

I like sun ripened beefsteaks for sandwiches but these brandywines are fantastic for my base tomato sauce.

I had bad luck with my tomatoes this year. Torrential rains followed up by 100F degree temps and I guess my soil wasn’t as well drained as I thought . Out of 6 plants I managed about 5 beefsteak tomatoes. I did better with my purple Cherokee and my Comptons. New plan next year.

My tomato yield will be way down from the last three years. I won't make it through the winter without buying tomato sauce. But I have tons of different peppers and have been dehydrating the hot ones.

Excellent. I’ve been to our farmers market for tomatoes. My ghost peppers probably need two more weeks and they start being ready. My Aji Mango and ChocoScorpion peppers were stunted early by that same weather and they’re not doing so great. I’ll be lucky to get 20 Aji from two plants and maybe no🦂

I bought a brandywine heirloom at the Escanaba farmers market 3 years ago and it tasted fantastic, and every tomato plant that I have planted since then is descended from the seeds of that first tomato.
