It was pretty hot but I removed the seeds and most of the capsaicin which really bring the heat. And the sun gold cherry tomatoes helped cut some of the heat too.

Thanks. I made a marinade with dark soy sauce, honey, sriracha, sesame oil, olive oil and orange juice and then used some of the marinade and pan drippings for a sauce for it all. Haven't had purple sticky rice in a while so went with that. I lie the nuttiness of that rice, it's more like wild rice

I roasted a pork tenderloin on a bed of spicy hot peppers and some sun gold yellow cherry tomatoes which are super sweet but help to temper some of the heat from the hot peppers. Having it over purple sticky rice. 🍽️

Nope it was a no show here. We had crystal clear skies and I could see a million stars but no aurora's. The closest they got to us was very low on the horizon right on the south shore of Lake Superior. Escanaba is north of me and light pollution cancels out auroras low to the horizon for me.

The best thing about Escanaba is that it is centrally located in the U.P. and makes it easier to travel to scenic areas. Fayette Historic State Park is an hour away on the Garden Peninsula. Portage Point is just south and has a nice beach and hiking trail. Monarch migration might be happening too.

This recipe makes for an excellent base tomato sauce which can easily be used to make vodka tomato sauce or a nice meat sauce for spaghetti. I also use it in chicken cacciatore and shrimp and fish dishes as well.
Also, since I am kid of fond of this, I haven't bought tomato sauce in 3+ full years now. Growing a few tomato plants and making your own sauce for the year is worth the effort. The sauce is much better then store bought and healthier for you. 🍅🍽️

Well I live on top of the country in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Our local population was loading up on nectar for a few days then they left. Now I am getting ones coming through from further north.
They are migrating now. They were hitting my feeders hard last week but are mostly gone now, though I'll leave then out another month for late migrators.

I don't mind them on designated trails, we have snowmobile trails they can run on. No need for them in hiking areas.
