You live right near a source. The only perch fishery near me is reserved for ice fishing. If you freeze the filets directly into water so they are in an ice block works lots better than bags or even vacuum sealing.
They taste mighty fine in the winter too. That's when I've caught my largest perch, up to 17.5 inches. I throw the jumbos back though.
