How do you replace a 4 yr degree with a 12 mth fast tracked one and get the same quality of teacher? You can't. Until the sector is properly recognized and remunerated for the important job it's undertaking it will always lead to poor outcomes for the children.
They are mostly not educators, they are babysitters. To teach kinder you need a degree, to work in childcare you need a Certificate or Diploma. The government proudly extended free care to 3-year-olds so more centres and workers were needed. The centres are for-profit so you get what you get.
