I've seen / read this so many times, but I still don't feel like I "get" it, for my, and my business, right now. Might have (yet) another gander* in the morning... *Look. Don't ask me why, it's English...

It's extremely hard to read the label while you're inside the jar. What is the URL for the business?
Poppop.studio
Wow I love your home page. Very clear what it is (for your target audience), and personal. So you have a clear mission at least. What is the struggle with prioritization? Deciding between goals like growth or profit, or what's the puzzle?
Honestly it's the problem of marketing and sales... Or better put, the fact that we run out of money in October. Objectives: What are we trying to get / what happens if we don’t? 1. Contracts 2. Lots of unhappy people. Weirdly, all the people we work with love us...
So somehow we have to tell everyone* else about that... Yes, all 153 of them. (Ok, there are others "below" them. And maybe I can mailshot a pile of adjacent businesses and charities too... Thanks for taking the time, Jason. I really appreciate it. 🙏
Is there really only 153 companies in the entire market? If so, you'll need a strategy that embraces that, including pricing, size of the company, etc..
153 councils (and falling, due to reorganization) responsible for SEND. So, yeah, there are layers of people there. I only want a tiny, hugely hands-on kind of company. Where I do weekly check in meetings with clients because I really love what they're about.
That's great! Sounds like you do have that. Maybe just a few more customers for stability?
A few more really is the plan. A few councils, working together, with pop pops keeping the "community" moving... That was the vision, and I've kind of lost it a bit. Thanks for reminding me...
Nice!
It's good that "retention" isn't a problem, so I guess you're right that it's marketing and sales. What is the bottleneck there? E.g. not enough people even look? People who look don't close? People have the pain a little but not enough to buy?
Lack of marketing, in all honesty. The right people in each of the 153 councils don't know we exist. And even if they do, contracts don't expire quickly (yes, we're competing with big incumbents)
It's wonderful that you have the list of 153. Almost no one has that clarity.
