Yeah, I used to use the freecycle groups a fair amount.

Sometimes it’s such a pain in the ass though, because in the first hour I’ll have 8 or 10 people clamoring for something, and after a day the first one is a no-show, and after another day the second taker is a no-show, etc etc, and after a week I wind up taking it to a thrift store or something.
