Every plan of resistance to Trump I've seen from Democratic mayors and governors will require arresting or disarming the cops who decide they're more loyal to the racism machine than they are to the democratic politicians they hate, and I know those mayors and governors are not going to do that!!
Given more time we could just defund them. Disarming agents of violence is going to be very dangerous. Police have a near monopoly on violence so fighting them with violence is unwise. But we can get the same effect by just not paying them or paying for their necessities.
And, to be clear, those mayors and governors won't arrest the cops more loyal to the racism machine than their bosses because - whether they know it or not - those mayors and governors are more loyal to the racism machine than they are to their supposed "liberal values" or whatever
Honestly it's the main reason I actually kinda like Pritzker, not so much politically but as a former dirtbag kid and petty thief: He's a crook, he knows he's a crook, he's an old time party boss and if he got half a chance I'm pretty sure he *would* run those fuckers out because it's his damn turf
