They are not a liberal party. The main liberal party of the UK is the Liberal Democrats. The Labour Party mainly uses the word "liberal" as a slur.

On top of that, you know in some parts of the US you have "democrats" who're from a democratic background but are actually socially conservative? Labour membership in Britain is VERY tribal and he's from a Labour Family, there are lots of right wing Labour types that think they're left wing :-(

So they may have become spent as a force for good of they've become more a tribe than a liberal social democracy tosocial democracy to democratic socialist party. It seems the Liberal Democrats or Greens will have to step up or maybe even make an agreement to work together.
