I'm with you! Just sayin': "it’s quite common that women in these settings [casinos, bars & nightclubs] are required to wear makeup, do their hair a certain way, wear stocking and nail polish, and adhere to other rules that do not apply to men." www.losangelesemploymentattorney.org/can-my-emplo...

Yes, but they CHOOSE to do that job and meet those job requirements therefore nobody is forcing them to do it. It's not much different from me CHOOSING to work on construction sites and abiding to wear a hard hat and boots...

My point is, there often may not be a lot of other options at that moment for the folks who need those jobs. All I'm saying is that restrictions and rules about these things exist. I'm not happy about it, and I'm sincerely glad you haven't experienced them, but they are out there.

The difference between the safety concerns on a construction site and the social beauty standards tied to makeup is not small. The fact that you compare the two says a lot about what you think the threshold for valid coercion in employment is, and it's gross.

My comparison has more to do with the fact that people willingly CHOOSE jobs that have particular requirements. It's not about make-up and hard hats as much as it's about realising the consequences of one's own choices, but you seem to have missed that point entirely...
