I don't think it's reductive. 'Losing confidence in your doctor because of a strike' is not a felt reality for most people when they are actually seeing their doctor or interacting with the NHS. It's a consequence that seems to happen only in the media's imagination

No, but supporting government when they put more restrictions on striking doctors or on union activity is very much something that can happen.

At which point the doctors quit the NHS even faster and go private Then no NHS You understand there’s no such thing as “slavery” right ? There’s very few private sector options for a policeman who doesn’t want to work without the right to strike - not so for doctors (or nurses)…

Firstly the government is reducing immigration. Secondly, you genuinely think the government can just import 75,000 doctors on short notice - are you genuinely stupid ?

I envy whoever gets to live through life with a mind so utterly unburdened by reality. Block and move on from such dim folks

Yeah, “You can just swap tens of thousands of doctors out wholeslae with people from other countries immediately” is a… peculiar take anyway but moreso in the current environment of [gestures broadly].

Nobody said it has to happen immediately. Again, UCU and higher education are the best examples of this. Striking since 2018 just to end in a worse place that they’ve started. You chip at rights and replace the strikers little by little.

Demand for medicine is inelastic. Demand for higher eduction is not. And if you somehow replace the NHS junior doctor staff with some kind of skeleton service of immigrants the British doctors just become private and get a pay rise.

Really? I think continuing strikes by doctor's will lise output confidence in them. It might not be your 'felt reality' (???) but it will be for a lot of people
