Yes, it oscillates a bit. I followed it since the 90s. Pretty much every graph is a valley: a decrease after the Brady Bill and then an increase after gun safety laws eroded. Wikipedia has a good overview. I'm pretty happy that I'm living in Germany, although the laws could be stricter there, too.

Three statistics with the title: Heat Maps of Age- and Year-Specific Firearm Homicide Fatality Rates. One each for combined, male, and females. The time frame is from 1990 to 2020. All graphs show a decrease in the 90s and a huge increase from 2015. From article: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9709653/. Contains more detailed numbers and references. Graphic: The U.S. accounts for 97% of gun-related late-teen deaths among similar countries, despite making up only 46% of this group's overall population.

Oops. That was supposed to be the NRA. And I am glad to be in Canada.

No problem! If it's about children killed by guns, you can even mistype two characters, and everybody reads it as NRA. I think the Americans who are currently moving to Canada are not the gun-toting kind. 😁 Elbows up! πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΊπŸ€πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

I wish I could've shared that young educator who moved to Canada. He said he couldn't ask his girlfriend to move, because he wouldn't be able to explain to her parents if she was murdered in a school shooting. He also said he got 3 months worth of his medicine for $24. He doesn't have coverage yet.
