Thanks for the news! 🤣 He already got the highest honour. And here is a free article I found.

Deviating from the usual protocol, Guiliani will receive the medal at Four Seasons Landscaping. They really found a flattering photo of him (the first in the article). 🤣 https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/01/trump-rudy-giuliani-presidential-medal-of-freedom

It's in the queue, but first, his groundbreaking book about Roosevelt sitting in a wheelchair and how this will surely hinder him from getting a second term.

Man muss ja schon etwas gehirntot sein um für die AFD zu kandidieren, da bleibt das nicht aus.

Could be an insane rant about litter and leaves all over Chicago, dripping showers, the etymology of groceries, Californian fires, woke mushrooms, and again litter in Chicago, so he's sending the troops to fix this.

If they get away without punishment, the punishment must be harder. Organize a boycott, maybe even some picketing in front of stores. That will cost them more than some fines. BTW: I love the term maple washing!

Pretty amazing point in history: we have an administration in place that we distrust so thoroughly that we assume we might not be told if the head of state were to die.

He found a new best buddy. Looks somehow more equal than that. I bet neither Xi nor Modi let their soldiers kneel before Putin.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
Do you have a source? I only found something about the tensions in July, with Russia downplaying it. There should be something in an old-fashioned journalistic source. Until that, I'm not getting my hopes up for more support for Ukraine.

Stupid me, I thought it was fascism. Isn't he from the South? Oh, he meant brown-skinned people.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
To be fair, growing potatoes is way down on the scale of diplomatic feats. 😁 As is appearing at the SCO. Xi and Modi are the last remaining contacts, and Russia will have to pay a lot for this pure gesture. Summoning your plant to Alaska is not a feat either; puppets have to obey.

May the unladen European and African swallows put their strength together and drop some coconuts on them. If they assemble on the roundabouts, there are already crosshairs painted on them. Besides a lack of straight thinking, they also can't paint a straight line.

If you manage that the public opinion is absolutely disgusted about a place, even most psychopaths won't go there. Most of them are also narcissists, after all.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
These times are mostly gone. Nowadays, most are getting rich through parents or scams. These are reachable. With current financial scams, some people who are not scammers are winning too. So a part of those people have morals. You'll never teach the psychopaths; you have to reach the others.

I think it would look a bit tacky to have a hot dog monument next to the Lincoln memorial, but the hot dog would have merited it, and tacky is The Clown's thing.

Wait until that term is over... It's so funny that the Reps (Reagan, Bush, Clown) always talk about "fiscal responsibility" and explode the debt and the Dems are the "socialists" and get the debt down.

I'll check it out. I always use DuckDuckGo, but I hope there's a search engine better at ignoring the first 20 hits with AI-generated slop. I know, Wikipedia is always first, but that's where I look first, with their search function.

But you had to read De Bello Gallico, right? "Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres..." Boring old git... We had to learn the first sentence by heart. I looked it up, and I made one error, so I'm thankful it at least leaves my head slowly. I did prefer reading "Asterix Gallus". 😁
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
It seems that the capitalist paradise isn't doing so well compared to the socialist countries in the EU. That doesn't even yet include the second explosion of debt that will come again with The Clown's second term. You can clearly see the Dems' terms, but red is the colour of the Reps, so...

The Heritage Foundation, Thiel, Musk, Murdoch, and the Federalist Society will consolidate their wins and continue under the hood with the transformation into an anarcho-capitalist country. The new VP will be someone trying to keep the European allies. That won't work, though.

I guess they've already played out what will happen if The Clown, amid loud exclamations of grief here, will kick the gilded bucket. After destroying the government from all sides, JD Bowman can cosplay as the more sane president and use the "it's The Clown's fault" line for the worst failures. /2

We all have burnt our eyes by watching The Clown's tacky decorations, but "professional wrestler’s dressing room" is something new and fits his favourite "sport". A lot more work for the cleaning staff; now there are nearly 20 presidents whose vomit they have to clean each time they see it.

So, one of the effects will be that a lot of manufacturers won't sell specific vaccines in the US because of judicial risks. For the poor, it's illegal stuff from the internet; for the rich, a holiday to Canada or Mexico. Another effect is that manufacturers will produce outside the US.

I have a controversial opinion. I want The Clown to have the best healthcare and JD Bowman to continue bragging, instead of him becoming president. It's OK if the dumpster where they throw him in explodes, and that's them all away, though.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
This time it will probably be worse. They will see "gangs" and wage a full-on war to "defend" themselves. I hope that every camera in Chicago, or whichever is next, is trained on them so that they can't pull that off too easily.

Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
It started even before the corporations. That arsehole alone makes you vomit.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
Exactly. The countries she named had/have a total breakdown of society. There are a lot of regions in Africa I'd rather live in than in the desolate regions of the US. I always ask someone like this about the average life expectancy in Africa. They're probably way off, and Africa makes big strides.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
There are regions all over the world where I don't want to live, and it has more to do with what arseholes are in the government. The high birthrate has to do with a breakdown of said "governments", so you have to rely on many children to survive so that you're taken care of when you're old.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
Pensions are introduced (1900s), and people don't need to have their kids caring for them when they're old, and the birth rate decreases again. Every country had that cycle, and you see that also in Africa. These are just a bit after the middle of the cycle.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
It's the other way round. If you look at history (here Europe), you have a high birth and infant death rate and a stable population. Medical care improves (1800s), and the population increases drastically. /2
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
Depends on where you live, as always. It is already beginning, surprisingly in blue states. 😁 I didn't dive into finding good sources, but here is one. I think that, if the fascists don't win altogether, there will be a big countermovement, because they fucked up everything. This is a chance.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
That's only a temporary solution anyway. The only continent with a growing population is Africa, and they are already over the peak. The women having children now will have fewer girls, so they will be in decline after a generation, too. There are better reasons for immigration, though.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
There's a stupid saying, but with a core of truth, "America will always do the best thing, but only after it has tried all other paths." So, there's hope. In reality, there is a fascist wave all over the world, strongly connected to each other. We all need to fight that off.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
A big step was that both parents must alternate parental leave or lose the money. I definitely support people being childfree. It's a decision you take on for decades, and you should really stand behind it. Everybody has their own things that they're good at.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
If I compare how children are treated and cared for today compared to my childhood, including expenses for kindergarten and schools, things have gotten much better. This, and fairer sharing of the burdens, is key to motivating people to get kids. /2
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
It was probably also helped by the fact that we didn't have The Clown as president. Countries with authoritarian figures at the head did worse and the scars in their societies were larger. The worst influence was probably Fox News, stoking distrust. We had that in the 1920s, with horrible results.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm not as pessimistic, but we also have less American individualism over here. We also have a *lot* of idiots here, and their numbers grew during COVID, but there is generally an understanding that a society only functions as a whole. /2
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
Absolutely. Children are valued much more now, at least in my country. But there is a proverb, "Nach mir die Sintflut!" "After me, the Deluge!" There are too many people who already follow that stance. Saving the Earth for the children is a strong driver.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social)
They're picking up trash? That's why nobody heard of The Clown in the last days!
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
😂 I guess it's just that something is itching.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm all for reducing the human footprint, but it should be a gradually decline, or the remainder will fuck the planet up completely when societies doesn't work at all.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social)
Finally it improves, but we're still not doing enough.
Strandschaf (@strandschaf.bsky.social) reply parent
You shouldn't have heroes; goals can be heroic. Dr Fauci saved countless lives by doing his duty and defending science while facing hostility. Most countries had such scientists who relentlessly fought for the people, even those who declared them enemies. I admire that and hope they are rewarded.
