Still not over this.
Still not over this.
Must be hype to see! Someone gently reminded me that this is just one side of the double spread cover so I would hope/guess that Dreamer is on the other half.
I have no idea who at least half of these people are. I need a guide.
I'm not great at this one either. I didn't read much DC during New 52 or Rebirth
There's a few of them I don't recognize but I think I can name most of them. Some of them are real deep cuts even though they're newer, like Gold Lantern or Tai Pham or Monkey King.
I'm impressed they got characters like Trinity and Marilyn Moonlight on there given how new they are.
I'm also impressed that they've included some quickly-forgotten characters like Bluebird and Yara Flor.
And I just noticed Mother Panic and Maps Mizoguchi!
Okay last observation: I love how stupid and pathetic and powerless The Batman Who Laughs looks! Obviously he's a major figure of the modern era, but I never liked that character.
Me neither. Never read any of that. Not interested in the entire concept.
I thought the first story that he was in was fun, if forgettable, but then they just kept using him and making him more and more powerful and as a result it got dumber and dumber. I don't even know how or if the character was finally destroyed but I'm glad they've stopped using him.
Yara has for good or ill been in Tom King's Wonder Woman a few times. Now whether she SHOULD be...
Oh that's right! I did read the issue where Diana plays Injustice, and Yara is in that! I need to catch up on that series, I've actually got a backlog of trades...
You also got to see her dead body for those out there who really HATE Yara!
I haven't gotten that far. I don't like or dislike Yara, she's just kind of there as far as I'm concerned. It was very silly when they tried to give her a show in the Arrowverse, and I'm glad that didn't happen.
I like Yara. She had some unique aspects when they first brought her into being. I don't read Tom King. I don't care for his writing.
I go hot and cold on Tom King. He writes great stories and completely trashes the characters at the same time.
I agree. When he's on he's on, and he's got enough hits that I'm always happy to give his work a chance, but when he whiffs he whiffs bug. I love his Batman, and his Superman. I think Mister Miracle and Strange Adventures and Vision are masterpieces. But I cringe when he writes Booster or Guy.
Actually looking closer I think it's about 80% I don't recognize.
I imagine so.
And Argus!
Nor would I be! Gosh, I feel so out of the loop! So many characters I don't recognize!
Nor should you be
