As a counter to this. At my hair salon at Canary Wharf my stylist was saying she spotted 2 clients on TV being foul about refugees in the Britannia hotel. She said if you're from Syria, Iraq or Sudan why wouldn't you want to escape to a better life. Made my lip wobble.
I took a taxi to a pro-refugee protest at a hotel which was under attack from the right. The taxi driver said on seeing the fascist protesters "what are those idiots doing? if they aren't happy, why not protest against the government, not those poor people in the hotel".
I can't imagine how they must feel hearing and seeing those protesters. I don't ever want to experience that level of hatred.
